Memory in the Service of Krsna By Satsvarupa Dasa Goswami

Memory in the Service of Krishna by Satsvarupa Dasa Goswami is a thoughtful and deeply personal exploration of using memories as a means of strengthening one's connection with Krishna. Through reflections on verses from the Bhagavad-gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam, the author demonstrates how recollection can become an important part of devotional meditation and spiritual growth.

The author describes his practice of selecting a verse from sacred Vaishnava scriptures and allowing memories to arise as he contemplates its meaning. These memories may come from moments of deeper Krishna consciousness or from earlier experiences before embracing devotional life. By revisiting these experiences with a devotional purpose, he seeks to connect them more closely with Krishna.

The book offers an intimate glimpse into the author's spiritual reflections and shows how even ordinary personal memories can become meaningful when engaged in the service of the Supreme Lord.
It encourages readers to approach their past experiences through the perspective of bhakti and use remembrance as a means of deepening their devotional consciousness.

An Excerpt from the Book

"I pick a verse from Bhagavad-gita or Srimad-Bhagavatam, and as I read it, I invite memories. It may be a memory of when I was closer to Krishna consciousness than I am now, or a memory from a bewildered pre-Krishna conscious state. In any case, I relive a memory for the purpose of becoming more closely linked to Krishna."
