Preyo-bhakti-rasarnava beautifully portrays a single day in the enchanting life of Vraja’s cowherd boys (sakhās), capturing the intimate and playful pastimes of Śrī Kṛṣṇa with His dear friends, including Sudāmā and other priya-sakhas. Written by Śrī Nayanananda Thakura, this sacred work offers deep insight into the mood of friendship (sakhya-rasa) and serves as a precious guide for advanced devotees aspiring for meditation on Kṛṣṇa’s eternal lilas.

Sundarananda was an associate of Sri Caitanya and Nityananda. He is identified as Sudama in Krsna's pastimes and is one of the twelve gopalas, who were associates of Nityananda. Sundarananda's disciple was Parni-gopala. Hari-carana and Kanu-rama were Parni-gopala's disciples. Kanu-rama's son was Gopala-carana. Nayanananda was Gopala-carana's son. Most of the descriptions for practice in raganuga bhakti deal with manjari-bhava in madhurya-rasa.

This work is for aspirants of sakhya-rasa, following raganuga-sadhana. In this work Nayanananda follows after the priya-sakha Sudama, who became Sundarananda in Gauranga's pastimes.IntroductionSundarananda was an associate of Sri Caitanya and Nityananda.
