Srila Sanatana Gosvami, elder brother of Srila Rupa Gosvami, renounced his high position as a chief minister to embrace the youthful goddess of renunciation and dedicate his life to bhakti-rasa. Externally an avadhuta, internally his heart was a treasure trove of Caitanya Mahaprabhu’s moods, making him a source of pleasure for all devotees.
Empowered by Mahaprabhu, Sanatana Gosvami preserved and spread the transcendental pastimes of Krsna in Vrndavana. He manifested Sri Radha Madana-mohana and opened the storehouse of devotional nectar, making his life and teachings essential for those seeking the highest bliss of devotion.
