Krishna wakes up in the morning, smiling brightly.
His friends wait eagerly to play with him.

Mother Yashoda dresses Krishna in beautiful yellow clothes.
He looks so charming with his peacock feather.

Krishna takes his flute and prepares for the forest.
The cowherd boys and calves follow him happily.

The boys laugh and sing as they walk.
The calves run joyfully, ringing their little bells.

By noon, they reach the banks of the Yamuna.
Everyone drinks the cool river water.

Suddenly, the boys and calves fall sick.
The water was poisoned by the serpent Kaliya!

Brave Krishna jumps into the river.
He calls out to Kaliya with great courage.

Kaliya comes out, raising his many hoods.
He spits poison and tries to strike Krishna.

Krishna climbs on Kaliya’s heads.
He dances gracefully, subduing the serpent.

Kaliya becomes weak and tired.
His wives fold their hands and beg Krishna for mercy.

Kind Krishna forgives Kaliya.
He tells him to leave the Yamuna forever.

Kaliya departs with his family.
The Yamuna becomes pure again.

Everyone cheers for Krishna, their protector!
