Just when it seemed all of Srila Prabhupada’s literary works had been gathered and published, this treasure arrives — a complete collection of his poetry, lovingly compiled and translated by Dasaratha-suta Prabhu. While some of these poems have long been known to devotees through the Bengali Vaishnava Songbook or from Prabhupada’s own presentations, this is the first time they have been brought together in a single volume and made available in English.
Throughout history, pure devotees of Lord Krishna have expressed their devotion through poetry. These verses open a window into Srila Prabhupada’s heart, revealing the deep feelings of the spiritual master who first carried Krishna consciousness to the world.
Although Srila Prabhupada usually wrote in English, fulfilling his guru’s instruction to preach in that language, most of these poems were composed in his native Bengali — making them intimate outpourings of devotion. With the exceptions of the English homage Adore, Adore Ye All and the Sanskrit Pranama Sloka for Sri Kesava Maharaja, the rest retain the flavor of his mother tongue, now presented with English translations for a global audience.
